Q: We have seen some truly incredible moments in the competitions as well. From Jay Lenton earning the Moniker of the Prince of Manly Manly to watching Brett Lee dismantle the Gordon Top Order at Chatwood Oval, even the heroics of Northern District scraping through this year in an intense Super Over against Western Suburbs. The fierce nature of the competition means that the players are better equipped when they take the step up into the Big Bash League, none-more-so than Grand Final Day, when it was held at the SCG. But one match stood out in terms of sheer star-power and excitement and it all took place at a typically picturesque day at Drummoyne Oval on 10 December 2018.

Q: Carey stumps Bairstow and the Spirit of Cricket
In almost every game of cricket at any level around the world, you will see a wicket keeper standing back to the fast and medium pace bowlers. At some stage during an innings, the wicket keeper will take the ball the batter either let's go or misses and, in the same motion under arm it back towards the stumps in the hope the batter is out of their crease.
It's been happening since the game began and every wicket keeper, including all our favourite test keepers, have done it at some stage.
Why now, when Alex Carey, in the same motion, does it in a test match for Australia against England and Jonny Bairstow strangely walks out of his crease and is run out are some people so upset and screaming from the rooftops?

A: Nup. Carey was 100% within his rights to do so. Bairstow had a brain explosion and Carey took full advantage.
Being in your crease until the ball is dead is the batter's responsibility. If they aren't capable of accepting that, consider other sports.

Q: My best Warringah Cricket Club team - Anthony Caruso 2011 to 2020
Season 2020-21 was my 10th season at Warringah Cricket Club, after spending 17 straight years at my park club, Cromer Cricket Club. During that time, I have had the pleasure of seeing some amazing players staying at Warringah and some who have gone on to bigger and better things. The Pathway Program between Warringah Cricket Club and Manly-Warringah District Cricket Club has produced some truly amazing players and, when you see the players included in this list, it just gives an indication of the strength and talent that I have had the pleasure of playing alongside.
I have kept it very tight in terms of the rules as well in that the player had to have been in the same team as me in the Bottle Green and White at some point. There are also going to be some players who would have just missed out

Q: Have England missed a trick by not selecting their best wicket keeper in the first test of the Ashes.
I understand Bairstow runs are important and he should be in the team but at what cost if he has the gloves on. Isn't Foakes a much better wicket keeper?

A: It is simple. In Test Cricket, you can't win if you can't take 20 Wickets.
It's why, in Test Cricket, I would have continued to have picked Ian Healy over Adam Gilchrist. No matter how damaging Gilchrist could be with the bat, Healy, as a pure keeper, was the best that Australia ever produced.
I think England have definitely missed a trick with picking Bairstow over Foakes for the Ashes.
