The Chappell Foundation’s 7th Annual Dinner. Adam Gilchrist will be guest speaker on 15 May 2024 at the SCG

The Chappell Foundation | March 18, 2024

This one is a keeper.

The Chappell Foundation is delighted to announce that Adam Gilchrist will be guest speaker at the celebrated and highly anticipated Chappell Foundation Annual Dinner on May 15 at the SCG.

Adam needs neither introduction nor explanation, he was a wicket keeper with such explosive batting skills that he set the template for what teams expect from their glovemen ever since.

A great man, a great of the game and a great storyteller.

Adam has unparalleled history: that 149 with Langer to beat Pakistan in Hobart, the emotional 204 not out in Johannesburg, walking in a World Cup and there’s that 57 ball 100 against England in Perth.

He follows in the footsteps of Pat Cummins, Ricky Ponting, Shane Warne, the Chappell brothers and Tim Paine, all previous guests.

The Chappell Foundation dinner is a fun night, but more importantly it is a critical fundraiser that helps keep kids off the street and out of danger.

Book early, these tables sell fast.

Every dollar you give us at the 7th Annual Dinner, net of the night’s expenses, goes straight to our charity partners, at the front line of our battle against youth homelessness.

Every night more than 45,850* people aged under 25 are without shelter - couch-surfing or in overcrowded temporary dwellings.

(*That’s the official Census figure, already 2 years out-of-date when released. We and our partners think the situation is far worse today.)

That’s one reason nobody at the Chappell Foundation takes a salary, fees or allowances. It’s all voluntary; we don’t even have an office.

Our MC for the Annual Dinner, Adam Spencer, and our auctioneer, Jimmy Smith, are also collecting nothing from the night but good karma and our appreciation.

The Sydney Cricket Ground, not only permit the magical hosting of sundowner drinks on their hallowed turf but go all out to support us.

Since 2017, The Chappell Foundation, has given more than $4.555 million to our charity partners and we have another $500,000 to donate, even before your generosity comes into play at the Annual Dinner.

Overall that time we have spent 0.6% of net funds raised on TCF administration.

You can trust us because, like you, we want everything going towards fixing this dreadful problem of youth homelessness.

At the Annual Dinner you can meet the great people who operate our partner charities, and some of their young people. You will hear from one of the youngsters whose lives have been transformed.

Make this one a keeper.
