Job Opportunity with Northern Territory Cricket - Senior Curator
Northern Territory Cricket | July 13, 2023
About Northern Territory Cricket Ltd
Northern Territory Cricket Ltd is the peak sporting body for cricket in the Territory. As custodians of the sport, we work closely with Cricket Australia, the seven other State & Territory Associations and our members to serve and grow the game. Our purpose is to unite and inspire our community through cricket, and our vision is to create a thriving sport for all.
Cricket in the Northern Territory is unique. Our small, but richly diverse community, is spread across a vast and rugged land mass bigger than most countries. Our two largest towns are 1,500kms apart. Our season never ends, with Top End cricketers playing in the dry season, while those in the Red Centre battle it out over summer. Cricket doesn’t stop in the Northern Territory and that’s the way we like it.
We have recently taken responsibility from Town Council for turf cricket pitch curation in Alice Springs across three venues. This exciting development will allow us to better serve and grow the game in the red centre, and together with our big and bold plans for cricket in the Top End, we are on the lookout for a Senior Curator interested in deploying their skills right across the Territory (literally).
If you are a curator with drive, ambition and like the sound of freedom and tackling a game changing project then don't miss this career launching opportunity.
About the role
Reporting to the Head of Facilities, the newly created position of Senior Curator will play a critical role in the growth and development of cricket in the Territory by:
- leading the curation and management of cricket facilities in Alice Springs between September and March.
- providing curating support to deliver an increasing volume and standard of cricket in Darwin between April and August.
Based in Alice Springs for the traditional summer cricket season, the successful candidate will be given responsibility for delivering high quality turf wicket facilities across the picturesque Traeger Park, Albrecht Oval and Jim McConville Oval.
If driven to make a difference, this role has the potential to make a significant contribution to the health and growth of the sport, and to the local Alice Springs community who crave more access to better facilities.
Based in Darwin for the beautiful Dry Season, the successful candidate will form part of a small tightknit curating team driven to deliver excellence across several venues (DXC Arena, Cazaly's Arena, TIO Stadium) as we seek to bring premium domestic and international cricket content back to the Top End and elevate the role we play in Australian Cricket.
