Northern Territory Cricket | July 18, 2023
About the job
About Northern Territory Cricket Ltd
Northern Territory Cricket Ltd is the peak sporting body for cricket in the Territory. As custodians of the sport, we work closely with Cricket Australia, the seven other State & Territory Associations and our members to serve and grow the game. Our purpose is to unite and inspire our community through cricket, and our vision is to create a thriving sport for all.
Cricket in the Northern Territory is unique. Our small, but richly diverse community, is spread across a vast and rugged land mass bigger than most countries. Our two largest towns are 1,500kms apart. Our season never ends, with Top End cricketers playing in the dry season, while those in the Red Centre battle it out over summer. Cricket doesn’t stop in the Northern Territory and that’s the way we like it.
About The Roles
Cricket in the Territory is entering its most exciting phase of growth and opportunity in over a decade, and when it comes to junior participation, we are only scratching the surface!
We are on a mission to ensure cricket is fun, accessible and welcoming for all, and have created 2 new roles with a very clear simple purpose - inspire kids from all backgrounds to fall in love with and play the game.
Growth in cricket participants can only be achieved through kids, with over 90% of cricketers starting by the age of 12. Reporting to the Head of Cricket, these 2 newly created Participation and Growth Lead positions will be responsible for developing and delivering programs that significantly increase registered participation in the Territory with a focus on the following key target groups:
· 5-12 year olds
· Women and Girls
· Indigenous Community
The successful candidates will play a critical role in the delivery of a renewed participation model that is targeted, data driven and seeks to better align and connect Woolworths Cricket Blast, Schools, and Clubs and Competitions.
The roles will focus on significantly increasing entry level opportunities, and attracting and recruiting new kids, parents and families from all backgrounds by broadening crickets appeal and ensuring they have a great first experience.
