A new era in Masters cricket under the leadership of the International Masters Cricket

Welcome to a new era in master’s cricket!

The first AGM for International Masters Cricket under its new constitution was held yesterday.

The new IMC structure, which was ratified at the AGM, incorporates the four age groups that currently play international master’s cricket – over-40s, over-50s, over-60s and over-70s – within the same body for the first time.

IMC currently has 14 member countries: Australia , Canada, England , India Over-50s Cricket, Namibia, New Zealand, Pakistan, South Africa, Sri Lanka, UAE, USA, Wales, West Indies and Zimbabwe

All 14 countries were in attendance at the AGM and held elections for IMC chairman, chairmen of the four age groups, and two representatives for each age group.

IMC founder Stirling Hamman (pictured) was elected unopposed as chairman of IMC.

Over-40s

Chairman: Roger Moult (South Africa)

Age group reps: Akshay Pandya (Canada) & Chris Mays (England)

Over-50s

Chairman: Jim Morrison (New Zealand)

Age group reps: Peter Rider (England) & Syed Shahanawaz (USA)

Over-60s

Chairman: Verinder Bhoombla (India)

Age group reps: Paul Donovan (Wales) & Greg McDonald (Zimbabwe)

Over-70s

Chairman: Murray Harrison (Australia)

Age group reps: Grant Baker (New Zealand) & Chris Swadkin (England)

Hamman said, “We have an amazing opportunity to progress our International Masters Cricket concept to a higher and better level for all of our players … These are truly exciting times and there are many joyful and happy cricketing moments ahead for all of us under the leadership of our new IMC association.”

The immediate future is looking busy for IMC, with World Cups scheduled at Over-60s (Chennai, India), Over-40s (Cape Town, South Africa) and Over-50s (Colombo, Sri Lanka) level within the next 12–18 months, plus a number of bilateral and multi-team series.
