Nominations on the SACA Board 2023 is now open, and I'm excited to be in the election ballot

Jamie Panelli | August 31, 2023

Voting for nominations on the SACA Board 2023 is now open, and I am excited to have the opportunity to be in the election ballot.

I appreciate we have many passionate cricket followers and many members who care about South Australian Cricket, so if you are as committed as me to make a difference, I would love your support.

You would have received an email from ‘Corpvote Voting Services’, if you could kindly take the time to vote and offer your support for my election, I would be very grateful. You will need your member number when voting.

If you could also pass this message on to your friends, family and colleagues that are fellow SACA Members, I would also really appreciate your help.

Since starting as a young cricketer at Kensington District Cricket Club, I have had the privilege of being raised in a strong cricket environment in SA. Along the journey I have created wonderful relationships with our cricket community and lovers alike, learning what it takes to be involved with a successful cricket organisation, the work it takes to continue to be successful and the need to adapt to change on and off the pitch.

Importantly, I recognise there is much to do in the wider SA cricket community and so to our game on a larger scale. Whilst still staying focused on playing and being involved with my premier club, I feel I can provide a great deal of value to our state’s governing cricket body, and also be a relevant help to build a strong, diverse and innovative platform for cricket success in South Australia.

I want to continue to give more back to a state and sport that has provided a great amount to me, and this seems to be the next opportunity to do so.

From playing juniors, through to competing in all grades in Premier Cricket (and still trying), junior coordinating, coaching all levels including men, women and juniors, parent of 2 junior cricketers, committee member and the wide cricket relationships I have developed in our state, I feel I have a detailed and broad understanding of the content of cricket in South Australia.

I believe being involved and invested across the many moving parts of our game gives me a quality lense I hope to bring to the boardroom table.

Recently I took this experience to the newly formed SACA Strategic Cricket Committee, which is a SACA sub-committee assisting in the shaping and direction of our Premier Cricket Competition. Along with my committee colleagues we helped create some exciting initiatives for SA cricket. I hope we can continue to build on this together.

We all, if not most of us, appreciate the cricketing landscape, internationally, nationally, and locally is changing, from the grass to the boardroom, and as a state, we need to not only continue to participate in the change, but also lead it.

If successful, I would look forward to representing you and our SA cricket needs in the upcoming election.

Thanks for taking the time to read and your support!
