In 1953, ROSS RIDLEY (#8), an Original and IAN HODGE (#23) added 103 for the 2nd wicket for A grade v Easts.

In 1970, GARRY O'HALLORAN (#217) took a career best 7-14 for A-Res grade v Uni Vets.


In 1981, BRIAN JOICE (#218) went on the annual rampage v TAS, having his best all round game for Waratahs, scoring a whirlwind 103 not out in an all grades 8th wicket partnership record of 112 unbeaten with RUSSELL FRANCIS (#326), who made 10 not out. This followed on from his 5-47 and two catches on the first Saturday.

In 4th grade, G McGARITY (#417) was unluckily out for 99 v St Peters as Waratahs won in a canter. He is one of six players to be one short of the century

In 2nd grade, GRAHAM PATTERSON (#346) and VICTOR CREW (#399) added 141 v Centrals, as Waratahs chased down Centrals 266 and won by 5 wickets.

In 1987, TONY BENNETT (#355) finished with match figures of 13-52 (9-9 & 4-43) for 5th grade, in a match where Uralla were all out for 35 on the first day but still won outright. AyJay's figures were the 4th best of all time.

In 3rd grade, MARTIN HADFIELD (#545) and ALEC FINLAYSON (#340) added 104 unbeaten for the 6th wicket v Ex Services in a rain affected one day game. Waratahs had been 5-47 and on the ropes when they came together. With ten overs left, Waratahs were in the box seat.

On the same day, wicketkeeper MARK DYMOCK (#523) held 3 catches for 1st grade v Ex Services.


In 1998, wicketkeeper batsman DAVID DUNLOP (#757) made 95 at first drop for 4th grade in a match v Uralla that Waratahs would win comfortably.

Most memorable moment in cricket:
1952-53 A grade Final, beating Easts 2 outright after our worst A/1st grade total in the sixty year history of the club. Beat the very strong Uralla in the last round to just scrape into the semis and then Easts 1 in the Semi. Played one player short on the first day after a mix up with team sheets and made 163 in the sunshine, Ross Ridley 59. Easts 0-57 at stumps after four dropped catches. Didn't play the second day for two weeks because of the Armidale Show and then after four days of heavy rain. Wicket now a sticky and impossible to bat on. Easts all out for 95, Don Paul 6-24. Batting a second time, Waratahs still one short and Ridley now out injured, all out for 21. Easts needing 90 don't make it to halfway, all out for 43, Don Paul 7-20. Waratahs win their first premiership in only their third season.
