Pocket Profile: Rajveer Masrani - Western Suburbs District Cricket Club

Rajveer Masrani is a top-order batsman and fast bowler who joined Western Suburbs District Cricket Club at the beginning of the 2024-25 season.

At 15 years of age, Rajveer has already progressed up the ranks into 3rd grade and has shown great skill, control and maturity with his cricketing abilities.

In Round 5 of the 2024-25 season, Rajveer scored a blistering 71 runs off 69 balls in a convincing win against Sydney in fourth grade. He is also the opening batsman for the Western Suburbs AW Green Shield side, which has recently started its campaign.

What year were you born?

2009

Tell us about your cricket journey. Where did you start junior cricket and the clubs you’ve played for in senior cricket.

Cricket has been part of my life since I was 5, I began club cricket in the United Arab Emirates in the under 9’s. Cricket in Australia began with playing under 13 Club for Schofields in the Hawkesbury district and then going on to represent the district up until under 15’s. Alongside my last year of reps, I also played A.W Greenshield and 5th Grade for Blacktown Mounties before playing for the Magpies (WSDCC).

If you can share with our readers how you would describe yourself as a cricketer? 

I would describe myself as a top-order batsman and fast bowler


What do you enjoy most about playing cricket?

Spending time out there in the middle

What’s been your most memorable moment in cricket so far?

Celebrating our win in arguably the most intense and nail-biting rep’s match. We had bowled out the top team for 42 and snuck out a narrow victory with just a wicket left in hand!
