Tell us briefly about your cricketing journey? Where you’ve played, clubs you’ve played for?

I’m a country boy who started in Tamworth at Old Boys. I moved to Sydney at age 18 or 19 played at Blacktown for 5-6 seasons, had a year off, and have been at Wests for the past 3 seasons

What was the highest grade you played, and can you remember how you performed in your first game in that grade?

I played a bit of 1s at Blacktown and a game at Western Suburbs

My first game was against Campbelltown at Raby, I had figures of 0/40odd off 18-20 overs

How would you describe yourself as a cricketer?

Off-spinner, talks and runs around a lot in the field

What are your strengths as a player?

You’d have to ask my peers but personally, I’d say a good teammate is my strength. I try to get the best out of each player on the field and create a good environment so everyone is in the game

What were your best bowling figures in senior cricket?

Got an 8fa in Tamworth, in grade cricket I’d have about 20 4fas, I’m allergic to 5

Who are the two players you admire most in terms of skills and competitive spirit in the competitions you played?

Tough… Josh Clarke with the bat, Tony Clark with the ball - he was very skilful back in the Blacktown days, and Thomas Draca most talented all-round player. Jimmy Psarakis In the field very talented, and throws from any position doesn’t drop them moves well for a big boy

Who was the best captain you had the good fortune to play with?

Paul Ryan- tough competitor, gets the best out of his team, always going to be in the fight

Who has been your funniest team mate?

Me, I am the funniest by a country mile

Who was your childhood hero?

Michael Clarke with the streaks and earring. Darren Lockyer back in his fullback days

Darren Lockyer

What’s been your most memorable moment in cricket?

I Would have been 16-17 in GF back in Tamworth, we reverse outrighted Souths, had to get 170 in 30 overs got them 7 down with 6 balls left, Simon Norvill hit a 6 over square leg to finish 89 not out to win the comp, crazy scenes

What are your hobbies?

Church, beach, sunsets… quiet beers playing cards with the boys… simple things

What was your favourite ground to play at?

Pratten Park, can’t beat playing and winning at home

What’s the best advice you’ve received?

Neil D’Costa- “When training don't tick boxes, try to win everything, especially the fitness, it'll make you a better player and athlete"
