Tell us about your cricket journey. Where did you start junior cricket and the clubs you’ve played for in senior cricket?
I started playing cricket at around 9 years old and played my first season at Strathfield in u11s. I moved to Carlingford and played reps for Northern Districts for 3 years including winning our under 13s season. Last season I played metro cup at Sydney University and am now playing 5th grade at Wests after being selected for Green Shield.
If you can share with our readers how you would describe yourself as a cricketer? Batsman, bowler, allrounder, wicket keeper etc
Leg spin bowler
What do you enjoy most about playing cricket?
I think the best thing about playing cricket is honestly just having fun. I have created so many memories related to cricket both on and off the field that it has become a major part of my life and I always look forward to it.
What’s been your most memorable moment in cricket so far?
My best memory is when I took a 6fa in our Metro cup semi-finals to help us win the game.
Who’s your favourite all-time cricketer?
Shane Warne
Who are the two players you’ve come to admire most in your club in terms of skills and competitive spirit?
The 2 people I admire most would be Oliver Hing and Josh Clarke. Ollie always strives to get better and we can always see that in training and with his results this season. He is always hard at work either with the bat or gloves. Josh is someone who spends almost all of his time in the nets and his ability to just keep improving has led to some great results for him this year.
What are the two attributes you like to see in a captain and leader?
I would say support and understanding. Support from your captain is probably the best thing a player can feel especially on a tough day, just knowing someone is backing them is a major help. A captain also needs to understand the game, and his team, so that he can try to get the best out of his players in any scenario
Who’s been the biggest influence on your career so far?
It easily has to be my dad. He has been with me every step of the way from when I started to now. His support has never wavered and I owe my cricket to him
What do you like to do to relax outside cricket?
Outside of cricket I spend most of my time playing video games or just hanging out with friends.
