Q: Vale Bob Horsell
The Eastern Suburbs Cricket Club is very saddened of the news of Bob Horsell’s passing today.
His was a Life Member of the Club, President of the Club and served as Chairman of the NSW Cricket Association and was a director of The Australian Cricket Board.
Bob was awarded the Order of Australia Medal in 2012 for Services to Cricket Administration. He was also a Life Member of the NSW Cricket Association.
The Grandstand at Waverley Oval is jointly named after him.
Bob’s commitment and passion to his cricket club and his local community was unmatched. Waverley Oval was his second home. His fondness for his cricket club people was unwavering and engaging.
He was a club legend.
Our thoughts are with Bob’s children Kate and Michael at this sad time.

Bob was a immensely proud Australian who through his efforts bought opportunity, and so much joy and happiness to so many young Australian and English cricketers. Bob's knowledge, efforts, enthusiasm and his love of cricket helped Eastern Suburbs become one of the best and most respected cricket clubs in the world. RIP dear Bob.
