What do you enjoy most about playing cricket?
The people I’ve met through cricket and the lasting friendships is a clear highlight. I also enjoyed travelling around and seeing different places and grounds as a junior which helps when I’m from the bush.
What’s been your most memorable moment in cricket so far?
A few games decided on the last ball come to mind. The top 2 would be beating a strong WA side in a junior final by 2 runs and Hayden McLean hitting a big six off the last ball to get us home in a T20 semi-final.

Favourite holiday destination?

Who’s been the biggest influence on your career so far?
A few big ones. Simon Smith and Greg Sparke were my first junior coaches. They taught me the basics of the game, challenged me to improve and made the game fun. They’ve volunteered thousands of hours over many years to help any local juniors. Sparky owns the indoor centre in Inverell which was my second home during my teenage years training with mates. Parents and grandparents funded and drove me all over the place during juniors which made it possible for me to play representative cricket. Many 5-hour return trips to Tamworth for training and games, and a couple of monster road trips to Melbourne and Adelaide.
Where do you find the inspiration that gets you through challenging times?
I’ve been very lucky to have the support from the people above and many others so just reminding myself of the opportunities I’ve been given.
