So wish Country cricketers and fans still got the opportunity to play and experience games like the Toohey’s Cup.
These were great days when the Administrators cared about the bush . These matches would draw great crowds at both Armidale and Tamworth.
We hosted State Teams, Country Teams as well as International Teams including West Indies and New Zealand here in Armidale. What happened !!!!!. These were important matches to the people in the Bush.
I almost had the honour of running Doug out before he scored. Luckily a throw from the boundary by Frank Gooley hit the tap cover near the wicket square and deflected away from the keeper with Doug well short. Crowd were not impressed with me.
