Tom Whitney is one of the most promising fast bowlers in Queensland and has already played for the Bulls when he made his one day debut against NSW in February 2023
Tom has come through the Queensland under age teams and represented Australia in the Under 19s World Cup in 2022.

Tell us about your cricket journey.
Started when I was playing at 6 for South Tweed Colts in Northern NSW. Then moved to Ipswich Grammar in grade 8 and joined Western Suburbs to play Tavs

Pace Bowler
What do you enjoy most about playing cricket?
Playing with mates. It makes it a lot easier fielding for 96 overs on a Saturday.
What’s been your most memorable moment in cricket so far?
Making One-Day debut for the Bulls at the Gabba and winning in the last over against NSW and also winning a first-grade flag for Western Suburbs.
Who’s your favourite all-time cricketer?
Shane Watson
Who is the fastest bowler you’ve played against?
Liam Hatcher bowled quite fast.
Who is the best spinner you’ve played against?
Matt Kuhnemann.
Who played the best innings you’ve seen firsthand playing with or against?
Cooper Connolly scoring a 100 in a warm-up game against India Under 19s on a wet wicket was pretty special to watch.
Who is the best wicket keeper you’ve had the good fortune to play with?
Jimmy Peirson.

Selflessness and a cool head.

Who’s been the biggest influence on your career so far?
I’d have to say my mum and dad. They’ve made massive sacrifices for me to be able to chase my dream and support me along the way.
Where do you find inspiration that gets you through challenging times?
To stay positive, optimistic and embrace the challenging times as things will get easier down the track.
Who are the three people in the world you’d love to meet and talk to?
Tiger Woods, David Goggins and Donald Trump. Would love to hear the mental toughness of Tiger Woods and David Goggins and how they’ve come back after setbacks in their life. And Donald Trump because it would just make for an interesting conversation.

What do you like to do to relax outside cricket?
Play golf and spent time down the coast with my parents.
