Tom Sangster (Wicket Keeper) - 1 game in st Grade before retiring to focus on being the Head Guru of NRL Daily Telegraph Supercoach
Tim Rees – English Import
Trent Copeland - 3 Test Matches, 106 1st class games - Interestingly is also one of the Gurus of Supercoach
Jake Wilson (12th Man) - Has had a very decorated career with Randwick Petersham and Sutherland making several 1st grade merit teams
Damian Bourke - Some amazing 1st Grade success before back injury forced an early retirement
Anthony Brooks - A lot of 1st Grade with Sydney
Joe Camarsh - Moved to 1st Grade Shires with Lane Cove
Steve Wark - Still Playing!! 3rd Highest wicket taker for St George with 791 wickets
James Turner - Club legend who came out of retirement for a few seasons. 449 wickets for St George including 249 in first grade and 3 first grade premierships
Hamish Solomons – Proud Skipper
Rod Krause - Retired recently after sharing a 4th Grade premiership with Wark, 5802 runs and 296 grade wickets for St George.
Mitch Brown - Moved to QLD and played 1sts before returning to enjoy a very successful 1st grade career with Sutherland and Bankstown
The club lost a lot of these boys to other clubs as making 1st grade was difficult with St George first grade line up winning 4 premierships in 6 seasons between 2007/08 and 2012/13.
The Finals
Interestingly we looked gone in the Qualifying Final and Semi Final !!!!
In the QF, Easts declared at a seemingly impossible 6-358. We were the higher placed side but so only needed to draw but amazingly we chased that score down with only minutes of play left in the day. 8-360 with Copeland scoring a century.
We were gone for all money in the Semi Final against Sydney Uni when we lost 3-0 at one stage to slump to 6-71 and then 8-116 before we fought back admirably to post 236 from 88 tough overs. We then rolled them for 128 with an amazing pace bowling partnership between Turner and Copeland which yielded all 10 wickets.
Easts did us a favour and knocked out minor premiers Manly in their Semi to advance to the Grand Final against us.
We won the toss and managed to bat into the 2nd day scoring 353. This made things difficult for Easts who were the lower placed side and they went down having a swing to be out for 106. Copeland claimed another 7 wicket haul for the 2nd week in a row to really push his point in only his first season out of wicket keeping. He went straight to 1st grade the following season and as they say, the rest is history ....410 1st Class wickets later!
