Sutherland District Cricket Club (SDCC) is seeking applications for the position of Head Coach.
SDCC is a proud member of the NSW Premier Cricket competition. We are a club with a tremendous history of success since our inclusion into the competition in 1965. A large number of First Class and International cricketers have represented SDCC and we have produced two of the best players ever to have played the game, namely Steven Smith and Glenn McGrath. SDCC is located in the southern suburbs of Sydney and has a strong emphasis on the development of our local juniors.
SDCC is a club on the rise following a period where we have performed below expectations. Applicants need to possess the capacity to build upon the improvement of last season and take the club and its players forward towards winning premierships.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- The organisation and implementation of training sessions that include the pre-season (weekends) and in-season (Tuesday, Thursday)
- Leadership of support coaching staff ensuring their skills are being utilised to the benefit of individuals and the playing group as a whole. This includes direction and support for 1st Grade T20, Poidevin-Gray Shield and AW Green Shield coaches
- Active involvement in our junior development and pathways programs
- Match day coaching and warm-up for 1st and/or 2nd grade fixtures
- Working with the recruitment and retention subcommittee to provide feedback on individual player identification, progress and development.
- Promoting a culture of high performance along with a spirit within the club conducive to the enjoyment of the sport
- Reporting to the Committee of Management monthly on club progress
The ideal candidate will have the following background:
- A successful record as a coach or assistant coach in NSW Premier Cricket (or the equivalent) and/or First-Class cricket
- Cricket Australia Level 2/3 (or equivalent) accreditation - A positive, hard working attitude with the ability to motivate and inspire our players
- Outstanding people skills and ability to relate to a range of stakeholders
Essential Requirements:
- Working with Children / Working with Vulnerable People Check
- Driver Licence
