Gordon District Cricket Club Luncheon - 18th October 2024

Gordon District Cricket Club | October 01, 2024

Its back! The annual GDCC corporate cricket lunch will be held at Dockside, Cockle Bay on Friday 18th October 2024. Previous luncheons have been wonderful events, bringing the cricket community together and featuring some of the greats of the game including Ian, Greg & Trevor Chappell, Jeff Thomson, Dough Walters, Brian McKechnie, Bruce Edgar, Kim Hughes, Adam Gilchrist, Peter Neville, and Phil Emery.

This year we welcome one of Australia’s favourite personalities & international cricket legend, Merv Hughes. Merv played 53 test matches for Australia, claiming 212 wickets with a best of 8-87. He also played 33 One Day Internationals, taking 38 wickets. He has a huge personality and his ability to get the MCG crowd to mimic his actions on the boundary is legendary.

Merv will be joined by fellow fast bowling & Australian International Cricket legend, Len Pascoe. Pascoe’s brilliant career was cut short by a knee injury, but his battles with the master blaster Viv Richards live on in the memory.

Both fast bowlers have amazing tales to tell and guests will hear plenty of them during the course of the afternoon. The lunch is a 3.5 hour beverage package, including a 2 course meal and great entertainment from our special guests. Tickets are $195 per person or $1950 for a table of ten. We have 325 people attending including former test cricketers Trevor Chappell, Matt Nicholson and Richard Collings (NZ). There will be some great prizes up for sale by live auction and silent auction.
