Gordon District Cricket Club - Green Shield Team 2024-25

Gordon District Cricket Club | December 26, 2024

The widely respected Green Shield Competition has just commenced, where high standard Cricket can again be expected from a competition that has been played for well over a century.

Once again a very young Stags team has been assembled under the leadership of outstanding coaches, Nick Miller and Matt Wright.

Playing his fourth year of Greenies for the Stags, Vivaan Gandhi (pictured) captains the team and is a key player. He enjoyed an excellent 'campaign' last season, and along with senior players Sam Dillon, Finn O'Farrell and Satva Shah, will hopefully lay a solid foundation for the many younger players in the squad.

The Stags are delighted to welcome Country players Sam Davis (Tamworth) and Cooper Williams (Lismore) to the squad and both boys will hopefully continue to display the excellent performances they produced in the 2023/24 Bradman Cup and State Challenge respectively.

As in previous years, the Stags should be competitive again this season. Last year's squad was the youngest group selected in the club's history and many of those boys remain in this year's squad. A good number of them have also been part of the U15 Metro Squad and enjoyed the opportunity to train with other talented players in this program.

The club wishes the following players every success over the next six weeks of outstanding competition:
