Rare footage of Imran Khan batting for Sydney University against Waverley in November 1984

In Round 6 of the 2023-24 NSW Premier Cricket season Eastern Suburbs will play host to Sydney University at Waverley Oval.

In a trip down memory lane to 1984-85, Waverley Cricket Club (now Eastern Suburbs) played Sydney University in a two-day Saturday, Sunday game on 3 and 4 November 1984.

Saturday, day one, Waverley Cricket Club batted first but all eyes were on NSW international recruit playing for Sydney University Imran Khan.

Below are the scorecards for the game along with the rare footage of Imran Khan batting on the Sunday when Sydney University defeated Waverley by 5 wickets.

In the footage you will see Imran Khan talking to former Cricket NSW CEO the late Bob Radford who we assume was the mastermind to recruit Imran Khan to play Sheffield Shield cricket for NSW.
