At the completion of the 2024-25 Premier Cricket season around Australia which premier cricket club across the states playing first class cricket will be able to claim to be the best first grade premiership winning cricket club in the first 25 seasons of this century.
A quick review around the states since the 2000-01 season and there’s been 138 premier premierships won by 59 premier cricket clubs across NSW, Victoria, Tasmania, South Australia, Western Australia, and Queensland.
The premier premierships are for the two- or four-day grand finals and don’t include one day premierships.
There are 88 premier cricket clubs around Australia, so it means 29 clubs have not won a first-grade premier premiership since 2000-01 or longer.
In New South Wales Premier Cricket, Sydney University have won 6 premierships since 2000-01 with St George close by with 5 premierships.
In Victoria, St Kilda have won 5 premierships closely followed by Melbourne with 4.
In Tasmania, Lindisfarne have won 5 premierships with North Hobart and Clarence sitting on 4.
In South Australia, Kensington have won 6 premierships (pictured winning their 6th premiership in 2022-23), and the next best is West Torrens and Woodville with 3 each.
In Western Australia Subiaco Floreat have won 6 premierships whilst Scarborough and Claremont Nedlands have won 4 each.
