Elise Noble - Penrith Cricket Club First Grade Cap No 52

Penrith Cricket Club | September 30, 2024

What year were you born?

2002

Tell us about your cricket journey.

Growing up I was surrounded by cricket as my dad and grandpa coached my brother’s team. At a young age I played backyard cricket and transitioned into the U10's Modified competition, playing for Greystanes Cricket Club. At the age of 13 I began playing for Parramatta in the female competition Mollie Dive. I played at Parramatta for 5 years, working my way up to second grade and eventually first grade. In 2019, I moved to Penrith Cricket Club and have been a member of the first grade team ever since.

If you can share with our readers how you would describe yourself as a cricketer?

Batting allrounder. Open the batting and bowl off-spin

What do you enjoy most about playing cricket?

The competitive nature of the game and being able to play alongside your mates.

What’s been your most memorable moment in cricket so far?

Winning the Women’s First Grade Premiership with Penrith in 2023.

Who’s your favourite all-time cricketer?

Ellyse Perry & Usman Khawaja

Who is the fastest bowler you’ve played against?

Maitlan Brown

Who is the best spinner you’ve played against?

Ash Gardner

Who played the best innings you’ve seen firsthand playing with or against?

Phoebe Litchfield - she scored 99 in our grand final in 2023 vs Northern Districts. I opened the batting with her so I had the best seat in the house watching from the other end!

Who is the best wicket keeper you’ve had the good fortune to play with?

Alyssa Healy (but she was on the opposite team!)

Is there a young player in your club you’d like to nominate as a player to watch?

Gunisha (Genie) Garg. Genie debuted in first grade last year and showed immense talent. Now with a bit more maturity and experience under her belt I look forward to seeing how she goes in her second year of first grade.

Who are the two players you’ve come to admire most in your club in terms of skills and competitive spirit?

Sam Arnold & Bec Cady

What are the two attributes you like to see in a captain and leader?

Someone who is hard working and open-minded.

Which singer/band would you like to see perform live?

Justin Bieber

Favourite location, city or country as a holiday destination?

I loved going to Hamilton Island & Hawaii! Next on my list is Fiji or Maldives

Who’s been the biggest influence on your career so far?

My parents have always supported me and have sacrificed a lot to provide me with every opportunity. I wouldn’t be where I am today without them.

Where do you find inspiration that gets you through challenging times?

I think of all the people who are disadvantaged or struggling and think I am very lucky to be alive and have the opportunities that I have. There are people who are worse off and it makes me put it into perspective.

Who are the three people in the world you’d love to meet and talk to?

Justin Bieber, Ant Middleton, Nathan Cleary

What do you like to do to relax outside cricket?

I love going to the beach and doing walks/hikes with my family. I also enjoy spending time with friends and going out for food.

If working or studying, what do you do?

I am nearly finished with my uni degree to be a High School PE teacher. I am currently teaching at St Andrew’s College in Marayong and also work as a lifeguard at Fairfield City Council pools.

Do you have a favourite quote?

“Believe in yourself and you’re halfway there”

What are your goals for the next season?

Personally, I want to be consistent with my batting and put out some big scores. I want to be a leader within the team and prioritise having fun and enjoying my cricket. In terms of the team, I want us to be a competitive first grade team and make the finals in both the T20 and 50 over competition.

Can we ask, what would it mean to you to play first class cricket?

Ever since I started playing I wanted to be a professional cricketer and play for Australia. For all my hard work and dedication to be rewarded with a first class contract would be really special and mean a lot to me. However, I am just trying to enjoy the process and ‘go with the flow’ and be content with whatever happens. I think enjoying my cricket is the most important thing.
