Manly Warringah District Cricket Club - 2011-12 First Grade side

Manly Warringah District Cricket Club | November 09, 2024

Our first-grade side in 2011-12 finished 5th over-all in Tim Cruickshank's first season as First-Grade captain. They had 11 wins, 5 losses and 3 draws across their 19 regular season matches.

Unfortunately, we went down to Sydney University in the Quarter Final, but it was a successful season after a number of senior departures from the season before

Cameron Merchant had a magic summer, hitting 727 runs at an average of 51.93. He hit 2 hundreds and 5 fifties with a top score of 125 in Round 16 against Mosman. He was ably supported by Tim Cruickshank (577 runs at 48.08) and Mitch Cleary (434 runs at 28.93). It was a breakout season for Mitch Cleary with his finest year in first grade with some outstanding innings, not least his match winning 103* against Blacktown.

With the ball, Corrie Boss led the way with 36 wickets, well supported by James Munting with 35 wickets. Munting was rewarded with selection in NSW 2nd XI.

It was an enormously successful season for the club, winning the club championship. Dean Gilchrist, in his first season as club coach, won the SCA coach of the year.
