Q: It with great satisfaction and pride I put forward this (roast) nomination for Trent Copeland to be considered for Life Membership of St George DCC.
The St George Chapter in Trent’s life began in the season of the 2003-04 where in Rd 14 he played his first game and wasn’t it a cracker.
Day 1 - He debuts in 2nd Grade and takes a catch as a WK. Yep.
A bit of artistic license on my part but I’m going to say that he gets dropped mid game to 3rd Grade and on day 2 you guessed it, he’s in the field again … all day …and takes a catch at WK.
First game done and dusted, a very skinny newcomer to the club has no runs, no wickets, 2 catches and has already played 2 grades …and thus starts the incredible senior career of Trent Copeland for the mighty Saints.

Q: My St George Cricket team to match St Kilda Cricket Club
I have been inspired by the Legendary St Kilda Manager Tim “Clock” Loughry and his personal selections for the best St Kilda team. A great line up that would give some international teams a run for their money.
I thought I could come up with a St George DCC team that would create one of the all time great grade match ups. Here’s the St George team of my playing time.

Going back to 1994 here when a Kingsgrove Cricket Academy XI played against Loftus at Caringbah Oval. A good mixture of students and some of our younger coaches. 7 players in this pic went on to play first grade cricket, one played first class cricket and one has played Over 40s touch footy for Australia
