Rishabh Asher is one of Sydney Cricket Clubs outstanding young cricketers. He has assumed a captaincy role at the Tigers and his leadership skills are admired by club officials, players and umpires
What year were you born?
2002
Tell us about your cricket journey.
I first played at Wenty Leagues when I moved to Australia. I then played U15 and U16 at Hills Barbarian. In senior cricket I played with North West Hurricanes for 2 years before moving to Sydney Cricket Club.
If you can share with our readers how you would describe yourself as a cricketer?
Opening left-handed batter.

What do you enjoy most about playing cricket?
It reflects life in many ways. Teaches me the art of balance: between aggression and defense, individual performance and team spirit. Reminds you to stay in the moment and enjoy each win as you never know what may happen the following week.
What’s been your most memorable moment in cricket so far?
India winning the world cup ….
Who’s your favourite all-time cricketer?
Brian Lara is probably my favorite.

Talking to my parents and coach, listening to leaders in sport and business talk about the strategies they use. Trusting the process and Staying in the moment

Robert Downey Junior, Roger Federer and George Clooney
What do you like to do to relax outside cricket?
I love to play golf but it’s not always relaxing, other than that, spending quality time with my boy.
What do you do outside of cricket?
Just graduated as a Physiotherapist. Working as a Personal Trainer and Cricket Coach for now

Don’t lose the forest for the tree.
What are your goals for the next season?
Finish the season in 3rd grade, score 500 runs for my club. Win a premiership.
Can we ask, what would it mean to you to play first class cricket?
It would mean the world to me. It would highlight the results of pursuit of excellence in processes. It would allow me to test myself against the best, pushing my limits, and finding strength in moments of challenge. It’d allow me to inspire others that expressing grit and determination broadens the vision of possibility.
