Tell us about your cricket journey.

I attended a cricket camp through the British International School in Jakarta Indonesia where my family was expating and a school I was attending, was my initial exposure into cricket before my family moved back to Australia. I then found my way into the Castle Hill Junior system through school friends which led me over the years to play various School Cricket, Representative cricket for Hornsby, Shires for Pennant Hills and Epping, Grade Cricket for Parramatta, Blacktown and now Sydney.

Cricket has also given me the opportunity to travel to the UK and play numerous seasons over the last 3 years with incredible individuals and people and I count myself very lucky to have had the opportunities of a life time thanks to a game I love.

If you can share with our readers how you would describe yourself as a cricketer?

As a Junior who grew relatively earlier than those around me I initially played the game as a bowler but as all kids do, I wanted to do it all. Tried my hand at wicketkeeping, spin bowling, opening, slogging, blocking, if I saw it on tv I likely gave it a go.

As I got older, and kids caught up and surpassed me in height the bowling took a back seat and these days I tend to enjoy the middle order roles I find myself in with the bat and being in every hot zone in the field for along as I can.

What do you enjoy most about playing cricket?

The opportunities it’s given me off the field to travel and the unlikeliest of friendships that I've managed to create not only around NSW but now the world.

One of Pakistan Crickets greatest ever Abdul Qadir, his son Imran Qadir in Manchester Produced some incredible flowing innings where ease doesn’t come close to describing how picturesque his batting was, but in one of the final games for the season which was riddled with washouts he produced a hundred that every time you looked up it was the most glorious shot you’d ever seen played.

Do you have a favourite quote?

I have two.

1. “It’s not about how hard you hit, it’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward, one step, one punch, one round at a time.

2. “If you have a problem with me text me, if you don’t have my number, you don’t know me well enough to have a problem with me”.

What are your goals for the season?

For so long it was to stay injury free now it’s so much more about being that 1% better than I was yesterday or the season prior, develop my game, develop as a person, drive to make this club the best club in the competition.

Can we ask, what would it mean to you to play first class cricket?

It would be a bit of a fairytale but maybe a second coming, a chapter in a story that maybe never thought would get written. Sport as a career is always the dream.
