Can you tell us a little about yourself outside of Cricket?

I love spending time with my family. I’m a massive Eels fan and enjoy watching pretty much any sport. I love travelling. I have been very fortunate to be able to do a bit of travelling with Cricket over the years.

Can you give us a quick rundown on your playing history for the Lions?

Played all of my junior Cricket with Fairfield and played my first 5th-grade game when I was 13. Made my first-grade debut at 17 and have played just over 200 first grade games for the mighty Lions.

Any fond memories around the club that you can share with us?

Hard to beat the 2006 1st grade final win against Manly. Incredible side and we dominated from ball one. The 5th-grade grand final win in 2007 was also a special one as a spectator. It was one of the best teams songs I’ve ever partaken in

Do you remember your first game for the club?

I was lucky enough to play my first game of grade on the same team as my dad at Don Dawson in 2000. I scored 3 with the bat and the old man scored 4, so he is always happy to bring that up.

Is there anyone whom you’ve admired regarding the presence they had or the way they go about their business in a game?

Jimmy Boulous was one guy I always enjoyed playing alongside. Great team man and always punched well above his weight.

Any standout performances you’ve seen someone put together?

The season that Lambos broke the 1st-grade batting record for most runs immediately stands out. There were some incredible knocks, and it is hard to see that record being beaten any time soon.

Any teams you looked forward to playing the most?

Bankstown and Manly.

Are there any individual performances from yourself that stand out?

My hattrick in PG’s is one I’ll never forget. It was also a massive honour being named as a life member in 2016.

Any advice for any young players trying to make their way up the grades, or find their feet in grade cricket?

There are plenty of opportunities at the club. Bat hard and put a price on your wicket.

Get back to the club after games and build that culture we have lacked the last few years.
