question
Q: Kerry Penfold was a talented left hand opening batsman who made his first grade debut for Campbelltown in 1990

Shane Lee on Kerry Penfold
Kerry did much more than just occupy the crease. He ended up scoring seven first grade hundreds, one against the great Glenn McGrath on a greenish wicket. His ability to pick up the length and play all around the ground was amazing. Also, his attitude was outstanding, never letting his handicap impede his belief or ability.

question
Q: Round 6 vs Bankstown (30/11/85 & 1/12/85)
(by Paul Bourke “Bourkey” First Grade Cap No 3.)

Campbelltown made an encouraging entry into the Sydney First Grade Competition in the 1985/6 season. Round 1 saw a solid win (by 81 runs) over another newcomer Hawkesbury, and Round 2 resulted in a draw after Day 2 was washed out. This game was evenly poised against Fairfield who were also in their debut season. Round 3 against the strong Penrith team exposed several deficiencies in our play but rain saved us to escape with a draw. Round 4 against Parramatta really rammed home how far we were off the pace against a solid, competitive side. To lose 7/11 in the last hour of play on a good batting wicket illustrated the lack of depth in our batting line up as we were beaten outright.

Q: Presenting our 1st Grade Captain for the upcoming 2024/25 season: Justin Mosca.

After joining the club last year, Justin quickly made his mark both on and off the field through his leadership and performances.

He brings plenty of cricketing experience and professionalism to the role, and with his endlessly competitive nature we have no doubt he can lead the squad to the next level in the coming season!👻
question
Q: The Ghosts are pleased to announce that Mitchell Calder has been appointed as Men's Head Coach heading into the 2024/25 season.
Mitch has been a part of the Ghosts for a number of years now, in both coaching and playing roles. Most recently he has been the Men's Assistant Coach, as well as being part of the PG's and Green Shield coaching teams.
He brings a wealth of coaching experience to the position, including being a current Youth Academy Head Coach within the Cricket NSW Pathways, leading University of Wollongong CC to back-to-back club championships in 16/17 & 17/18, as well as being involved with Ghosts PG's and 1st Grade T20 teams that have made multiple finals appearances.
We are looking forward to Mitch taking on the leading role and continuing to drive the club towards success.

question
Q: The 1986/7 season was Campbelltown’s second in Sydney Grade Cricket. It was also the season that proved to be one the most successful in the Club’s 36 year history. The club finished fourth in the Club Championship, Runners up in Fourth Grade, Runners up in First Grade, Premiers in First Grade Limited Overs Competition and NSW Limited Overs Champions. There were many outstanding performances but the “Fabulous Five” were incredible. All clubs at different times will have a special group of bowlers and this group set a very high standard for the years that followed at Campbelltown.

Who Were the Fabulous Five?

They were the First Grade bowling attack that were unique and brilliant as a group. The players were:
