Welcome Delissa

Firstly, what year you were born?

1989

What is your nickname?

DK

What do you remember most about junior cricket?

Getting the boys out!

Do you have a regular routine before each game?

Listen to country music.

What do you like to do on your days off?

Very little, have a nap and do some odd jobs around the house. I try to not do a lot on my days off!!

How do you amuse yourself on a plane flight?

I literally go to sleep the minute I sit in my seat

Which singer/band would you like to see perform live?

Luke Combs for sure!

Who is the king of selfies at your club?

Carly Fuller I’d say

Who’s your funniest team mate?

My best mate Sammy- Jo always makes me laugh and Grace Parsons has lots of blonde moments

Who’s your most annoying team mate?

I don’t think I have one just yet but give it time!

If you won the lottery, what would you buy first?

Another house on a bit of land with no neighbour’s! That’s the dream

What’s your favourite city in the world to visit?

I’d have to say London! I love going back there it change my life and it’s always a thrill to go back.

Who was your childhood hero?

Ricky Ponting

Who is the fastest bowler you’ve played against?

Cathryn Fitzpatrick.

Who is the best spinner you’ve played against?

Amelia Kerr for such a young player she is so clever with her plans.

Who are the next two batsman to make their debut for the Queensland Fire in the WNCL?

Good question, honestly I’m not sure but I do know that there will be lots of opportunities so it’s up to whoever wants it more

Who are the two opponents in Queensland Cricket you admire most in terms of skills and competitive spirit?

Grace Harris she’s a club cricket bully but just has so much talent and when she is on you don’t want to be on the opposite side... trust me!!!

Megan Dixon would be my go to girl in terms of guts and digging in, in tough moments. Rises to big occasions but is a no fuss teammate that everyone loves to have.

What’s been your most memorable moment in cricket?

Winning the 2020 T20 World Cup in front of 86 thousand people. Dream do come true!!!

The World Cup is definitely a game that stands out. Knowing that we had won with 4 overs to go I really loved that we were able to enjoy and soak up the atmosphere. I was standing in the field doing the Mexican wave with the crowd as it went around. It wasn’t just special because we won, but for what the whole day stood for and to see the support for women’s cricket just makes us truly grateful.

Is there a Coach (Mentor) that stands out more than the other in shaping your game?

Vic Williams was my bowling coach from a very young age and he taught me how to self-coach and how hard you have to work.

Andrew Selff was my regional cricket manager. He used to pick me up before school, take me to the nets and once we were done he’d drop me off to school. His influence taught me to be better and you need to take every chance so you can to get better!

What’s the best win you’ve been involved with?

Winning the T20 tournament with the QLD Fire before the big bash came in.

What’s your favourite food?

I love Mexican
