Wynnum Manly Cricket Club has over 50 years of history and has become one of the premier cricket clubs in Brisbane at both junior and senior, male and female playing levels. It has an impressive record of achievement including five first grade premierships and a growing honour roll of international and state cricketers.

Q: Luke Rowing is a budding young leg spinner who is part of Wynnum Manly's Lord's Taverners U17 Squad this season, alongside continuing his Grade cricket career having debuted at just 14 years of age.

Luke comes from a family with a rich history of cricket - his dad Ashley being a previous premiership winner at Wynnum Manly - whilst his grandad Ron holds a storied cricket career. In more recent seasons, Luke has had the opportunity to compete alongside his uncle, former 1st Grade player Mitchell Rowing.

Q: Connor Rudman is a young top order batter for Wynnum Manly District Cricket Club,

In 2023–24, Connor played through the grades from 5th grade through to 2nd grade, as well as the clubs under-19 team and Taverners QLD under-17s. He also represented his school’s first XI.

He scored 861 runs with an average of 29.69, including a terrific 151 for Wynnum Manly 4th grade against Redlands at EGW Wood Reserve.

Connor Rudman won the Wynnum Manly District Cricket Club Humphries-Simon Lower Grade Cricketer of the Year in 2023–24.

Q: Sea Eagles Sign South African Bowling All-Rounder

Thando Ntini is an exciting prospect and son of Proteas legend Makhaya Ntini. 💯

Like his father, Thando is an opening bowler who has enjoyed plenty of success during his career to date. The 23-year-old seamer has represented South Africa at the ICC Under-19 World Cup in January 2018; and was picked up by the South Africa Emerging Players in 2019.

He has starred at both provincial and Franchise level for Western Province, Cape Cobras, Titans, and most recently KwaZulu-Natal Coastal, as well as the Dolphins. In all the young quick has played 21 First-Class matches, picking up 44 wickets at an average of 33.

Thando has picked up 26 List A wickets, including best bowling figures of 4-36 on his Momentum One Day Cup debut for the Cobras back in February 2020. In T20 Cricket, Ntini has 24 wickets to date from his 25 matches.

Last summer, Ntini travelled to the UK ahead of the 2023 season. The talented bowler was instrumental in Lordswood Cricket Club's Kent Premier League victory scoring 416 runs at an average of 32, alongside his 28 wickets at an impressive 22.25.

Lordswood went on to re-sign their South African star for the ongoing UK 2024 season. At the conclusion of the English Summer, Thando will travel to Australia, joining up with Brisbane Grade side, Wynnum Manly District Cricket Club.

The 'Sea Eagles' will be looking forward to welcoming the South African seamer into their ranks for the upcoming 2024/25 campaign.

Q: Female Coaching Announcement
We are thrilled to introduce Sammy Curtis as the Women’s Director of Coaching for Season 2024/25 and beyond at Wynnum Manly District Cricket Club!
A number of you will know Sammy from his work at Queensland Cricket as the State Infrastructure Manager or more recently as National Cricket Centre Facilities Lead at Cricket Australia, but Sammy has a much deeper cricket history than that.
Sammy played 17 seasons of Provincial Cricket in New Zealand for Wairarapa, captaining and representing the Central Stags District A team.
Sammy was the Cricket Development Coordinator for Central Districts Cricket Association in Hawke’s Bay, New Zealand before moving to Queensland ten years ago.
In 2019 Sammy joined Coolum Cricket Club as player/coach in Coolum’s inaugural Division 1 season captaining the side in his last two seasons.
He also captained the Queensland Veterans Over 40s Gold Division 1 side at the National Championships in November last year.
Sammy will take on the Women’s Director of Coaching role for the Sea Eagles which will encompass not only coaching our Women’s First Grade side but further developing a female cricket program in its entirety across Women’s Second Grade, Rebecca McCoombes Cup, youth and junior programs.
With Sammy's expertise and passion for the game, we're looking forward to taking our female cricket program to new heights.

Q: Shikha Pandey made her debut for Wynnum Manly District Cricket Club Women’s first grade team on the 11 September 2022.

The game was against Sandgate Redcliffe and Shikha scored 112 and took 2 for 7 to help Wynnum Manly to a comprehensive 178 run win.

Shikha was first selected to play for her state Goa at the age of 17 and in 2014 she made her debut for India in all three formats, Test Cricket, One day Internationals and T20 cricket.

To date Shikha has played 3 Tests, 55 One Day Internationals and 62 T20 games for India.

Q: A powerful batsman, particularly off the back foot, Justin Poole had the ability to take the game away from the opposition in a short period. Teammate Adam Dale recalls a highly skilled and talented cricketer, a batsman who was adept anywhere in the order, excellent fielder and handy bowler. A very good team man who could dominate a game and did so over many seasons and a key player when Wynnum Manly District Cricket Club won the 1995/96 first grade premiership.

At the completion of the 2023-24 season Justin is the leading run scorer in the rich history of Wynnum Manly District Cricket club with 11,707 runs. Justin has scored 7,603 runs in first grade.

Q: For the first time in the club's history, Wynnum Manly DCC are going to field an Over 50’s team in the Queensland Veterans Cricket (QVC) competition.
This competition is run fortnightly through the winter months, and we would love to get as many players as possible to come back to the game they love through this competition and via the Sea Eagles.

Saturday 16th December 2023 marked a monumental moment for our beloved Wynnum Manly District Cricket Club as we unveiled the stunning Noel Gorman Pavilion Second Storey. The atmosphere was filled with gratitude and excitement as we cut the ribbon on this incredible addition, made possible by the hard work and dedication of many.
