Dale McKay is Hawkesbury Cricket Club current first grade captain and made his debut for the club in 2008-09.
Dale has scored over 7,000 first grade runs in NSW Premier Cricket and is looking forward to a successful and rewarding season for the club in 2024-25 season.

What year were you born?
1992
Tell us about your cricket journey.
I played all my juniors for Wilberforce Cricket Club except for one season with North Richmond Cricket Club. Progressed into senior cricket for Wilberforce CC then started grade cricket when I was 15 for the Hawkesbury Cricket Club

Top order batsmen who scored too many behind point
What do you enjoy most about playing cricket?
The mateship, the time spent with good people, the challenge, it forever levels you no matter what level
What’s been your most memorable moment in cricket so far?
Any success is enjoyable. We had a great run to the One Day Finals years ago only to lose by a run and winning the T20 Thunder Conference a few seasons ago is a great memory

Ricky Ponting
Who is the fastest bowler you’ve played against?
Daniel McLauchlan, left armer too, yuck
Who is the best spinner you’ve played against?
Anthony Clark was quality for a long time. More recently Smit Raval is one of the premier spinners in our competition
Who played the best innings you’ve seen firsthand playing with or against?
Again more recently, batting alongside Tym Crawford, hitting 80 odd off half as many balls in the T20 quarter final
Who is the best wicket keeper you’ve had the good fortune to play with?

Who are the two players you’ve come to admire most in your club in terms of skills and competitive spirit?
Aiden Van den Nieuwboer and Ryan Mizzi

Calmness and trust in the players ability

Greece
Who’s been the biggest influence on your career so far?
My dad
Where do you find inspiration that gets you through challenging times?
Routine has been a big part of my cricket life the last 5-6 years and has proved fruitful
Who are the three people in the world you’d love to meet and talk to?
Tiger Woods, Ricky Ponting and Lewis Hamilton
What do you like to do to relax outside cricket?
Family time and golf if possible
What’s your occupation?
Carpenter by trade and now TAFE teaching
