10 year old girl Kaya scores over 1,000 runs in the season

Phew! At last, it's all done and dusted.

Finally, Kaya has made her dream come true by scoring 1017 in total and also taking 48 wickets just in this season. May be in the next match she might complete taking even 50 wickets and adding more runs to her tally.

This journey was so wonderful but was not that easy at all. She had challenges after challenges, there were too many variables beyond our control. Starting from limited balls to play, byes, match cancellations due to rain, heat, etc., sitting out cuz of the rotation policy, not getting to play when opponents setting up small targets to chase and, so on and on.

Anyways, this might be a world record too for a 10 old girl to officially score 1000+ runs and to take 48 wickets in a single season. She has played 50% of the matches with U12 Div 1 boys and other 50% with U14 girls in the club matches and U13 girls in rep matches, everything under PDCA. She's topped the runs tally in both in U12 boys and U14 girls including total number of wickets.

The real bonus was getting into the regionals, captaining the team, winning the State Championship and now to represent the NSW State for primary schools in Darwin in June.

That's it about Kaya for now and I'm sorry to bombard people with my posts about this girl.

One funny thing happened and I've to mention that here. Her season started off with a duck (0) but she never gave up, kept her hopes alive and now she's ended up scoring in 4 digits. Life is so mysterious, but things can be changed with self-belief and determination.
