Adams Cricket Academy Canberra Chargers played their first T20 game on tour v Delhi Capitals Amenity Madan Lal Cricket Academy

Adams Cricket Academy | April 16, 2023

The ACA Canberra Chargers boys played their first T20 game on tour today against the strong DCAMLCA (Delhi Capitals Amenity Madan Lal Cricket Academy) at Siri Fort Complex, New Delhi. Captain Jake Smith won the toss and chose to bowl first.

Fergus Boorer started the game strongly, taking two important early wickets. Freddie Cleverly spun his way to the team's best bowling figures, getting 3/17 from 4 overs. Raakin Rahman also did well, taking 2/10 from 2.4 overs. The Chargers bowled out DCAMLCA for just 95 runs in 18.4 overs, which was an excellent result for the bowling and fielding team.

When it was time to bat, Lukas Boorer top scored with a classy 21 from 25 balls, while Jake Smith made a steady 13 from 33 balls, with wickets falling around him. Jasmeet Nain was the best bowler for the opposing team, finishing with figures of 3/16 from 4 overs. Ultimately the Chargers came up short, ending on 80/8 from 20 overs. This first game on tour was a great learning experience for the boys and we’ll take a lot of positives from the way we bowled and fielded today.

?Final scores:

DCAMLCA: 95/10 (18.4)

ACA Canberra Chargers: 80/8 (20.0)
