The ACA Canberra Chargers had an eventful day in their Under 17's T20 matches in India.
In their first game against AB rising cricket academy, it was a nail-biting thriller that ended in a super over. The ACA Canberra Chargers batted first and were bowled out for 103 in 19.3 overs, with Josh McIntyre and Dylan Shillington top-scoring with 24 and 20 runs, respectively.
When it was our turn to bowl, skipper Jake Smith bowled a brilliant spell, taking 4/17 from his 4 overs, and Ishan Dalvi picked up 2/15 from 3 overs. The ACA Canberra Chargers bowled AB rising cricket academy out for 103/10 in 19.5 overs, forcing a super over.
Raakin Rahman bowled the super over for the ACA Canberra Chargers, conceding 10 runs for one wicket. However, we were only able to score 8 runs in our super over, resulting in a tough loss.
In their second game against MLCA, the ACA Canberra Chargers won the toss and batted first. Lukas Boorer got off to a great start, scoring 26 from just 17 balls, followed by Jakome Roberts Charlton, who top-scored with an innings of 45 from just 31 balls. Ishan Dalvi also had a useful knock at the end, adding 17 runs from 20 balls, as they finished their innings on a competitive total of 156/8 from their 20 overs.
In the field, the ACA Canberra Chargers were brilliant, with Alex Gunn getting a run-out and Jakome Roberts Charlton and Arnav Gupta combining for another great run-out. Alex Gunn and Will French also took one wicket each, as MLCA fell short of the target, finishing on 106/4 from their 20 overs. The ACA Canberra Chargers won the match comfortably by 50 runs.
Overall, it was an exciting day of cricket for the ACA Canberra Chargers, with one thrilling loss and one dominant win.
