The LBW Trust works to level the global playing field in education. We currently support the tertiary and vocational education of more than 2500 deserving young students in developing, cricket-playing nations and libraries in rural, regional and remote Australia.

Q: As if one Mike isn’t enough, Mike Whitney joins us for An Evening Celebrating Mike Coward AM, on October 25th at the State Library of New South Wales.

Mike Whitney, former Australian Test Cricketer and now President of Randwick-Petersham Cricket will add his unique flair to the evening.

The night will entail three parts:

1. The Early Years
Delve into the fascinating journey of Mike Coward as he reflects on growing up in Adelaide. With Peter Lalor, Mike will share his love of sports, the highs, the challenges, and the memorable moments that have defined his remarkable career in journalism.

2. The Cricket Years
Step into the cricket world with Mike and other luminaries, Jim Maxwell and Mike Whitney. Together, they will explore the rich tapestry of the game's evolution and share anecdotes that cricket fans will treasure.

3. Mike's Passions
Here we learn about Mike's home life, his passion for the Arts and his work with The LBW Trust and CandleAid. This segment will give you a glimpse of Mike and his unwavering commitment to making a difference.

Not only is she playing and writing about women's cricket across the globe, but she's also dedicated to a cause close to her heart: fundraising for The LBW Trust. This incredible journey began in Hong Kong on April 1st, 2023 and since then, Jenny has visited and played cricket in 61 countries. (last update: April 5th, 2024)

But it's not just about cricket; Jenny is using her platform to highlight issues that matter. One such issue is education, and her partnership with CandleAid in Sri Lanka is a testament to this commitment

Q: Cricket Australia (CA) announced yesterday in consultation with the Australian Government on the treatment of women and girls in Afghanistan, that the T20 men's series between the two countries will not take place as scheduled in August 2024.

In the meantime, we present what the Afghanistan people are missing out on. Tooba, Shafiqa and Benafsha three women from the Afghan Women's Cricket Team, are currently in exile and last week were part of our T10 2024 Corporate Tournament in Sydney.

Yuva Parivartan KSWA is the heartbeat of the Kherwadi Social Welfare Association and since 2012 we've supported Yuva Parivartan's Livelihood Development Centres.

Over the last 24 years, YuvaParivartan KSWA has been a beacon of hope, enhancing the employability of over 1.25 million underprivileged youth and women through tailor-made urban and rural livelihood training programs.

Yuva Parivartan's courses, spanning 15-90 days, are strategically crafted with flexible timings, practical training, and technology integration, aiming to empower students to earn a livelihood with stability swiftly.

The support system, including field counsellors, community leaders, trainers, and local livelihood providers, ensures a robust network for our beneficiaries.

Always at the forefront of innovation, YuvaParivatan is tirelessly exploring diverse models to bring more youth and women into the economic mainstream. This commitment extends to reaching rural and peri-urban areas, adapting to the unique needs of different marginalised sections of society.

Q: A warm welcome to Samantha Forbes the new Women for Change Australia Representative on The LBW Trust Board.

Samantha has been volunteering with Women for Change since 2020 and has served as a Committee Member since 2022. She is also a self-published author, publishing her first novel in 2022.

Best of all Samantha is a self-confessed cricket tragic, a trait she shares with her husband and 10-year-old son.
