I remember vividly the Sydney Uni vs St George match. Going into day 2 we were in all sorts of trouble (4-39) against St George, even after John Grimble’s terrific bowling (5-54) led us to dismiss the competition leaders for just 160. Our tail, led by wicket-keeper Will Swanton (now a brilliant sports writer with The Australian) clawed us back into the match. But it took a magnificent 10th wicket partnership between Ian Drewe and Mick O’Sullivan of about 50 runs to get us over the line. One of the most nail-biting wins I have ever been involved in.
