My daughter is 14 and quite a talented young cricketer but decided not to play this season as she was inspired by the Matilda’s and wants to play Football.
I spoke to a couple of the committee members in our local competition, and they said for the first time in a couple of seasons their numbers are down in girl’s cricket.
I wonder if other competitions and clubs are experiencing the same.

Likewise I have heard this story from quite a few associations. The "Matilda" factor, which has been brilliant for female sport, could prove a major backward step for Cricket. It will be interesting to see if C.A does anything to support community cricket to address the challenge. Soccer in general is incredibly aggressive in tying up young hearts and minds.
What should be C.A's answer to this?
