David Morrow was a magnificent commentator with a distinguished career in sports media spanning over 50 years.
Many will remember David commentating on cricket on ABC radio. David cherished the Sydney Cricket Ground and took immense pride in his induction into the SCG Media Hall of Fame in 2023.
David, affectionately known as 'thirsty,” was the ABC Radio number one commentator for almost three decades. From 1985 to 1996, David also called Saturday’s rugby league games on ABC Television.
In July 2024, the National Rugby League announced David Morrow's induction into the National Rugby League Hall of Fame, a truly tremendous accolade.
David Morrow covered eight Olympic games and six Commonwealth Games and was one of the most versatile commentators in Australia’s sporting history.
After a battle with brain cancer, David Morrow sadly passed away on July 17, 2024.
