Stockton youngster Ray Robinson was selected to represent Combined Country against Metropolitan at the Sydney Cricket Ground in January 1934. Robinson can be seen here receiving advice from NSW Captain Alan Kippax.

Robinson hailed from Stockton and made his NSW debut in the 1934-35 season. He went on to play a single test match for Australia becoming Newcastle's first test cricketer.
