On September 24, 1978, Pratten Park, the home of Western Suburbs District Cricket Club, became the stage for a truly special event—the Australian Quadriplegic Charity Cricket Match.

Two star-studded teams took the field: the Bob Simpson XI and the Les Johns XI, featuring a unique mix of Australian Test cricketers and top NSWRL rugby league players.

It was a day where sport transcended competition, bringing together legends from cricket and rugby league to support a great cause.
